Plans submitted for Birmingham build-to-rent project

Plans have been submitted for a build-to-rent scheme in Birmingham. HUB, the progressive developer creating living places for communities along with MARK, the real estate investment manager, has submitted plans for a scheme at 2 Snowhill Plaza in the city. The 48-storey project, once completed, will provide 462 rentable units, ground-floor business space and exciting new amenities on the doorstep, bringing quality homes and notable architecture to the city.

What is the aim of the project?

The aim of the project is to offer excellent quality homes in a busy commercial area of Birmingham, allowing residents to take advantage of the location and the amenities that the city offers. The designs will draw inspiration from other landmarks in the city, including Alpha Tower, a Grade II listed skyscraper with office facilities and Colmore Row, a Grade A office building with a top floor restaurant in the city’s thriving business district. When was the Snowhill Plaza site acquired?

The existing commercial premises situated on the Snow Hill Plaza site has lain vacant for over ten years. The site was recently acquired from an investor, and the plan set in motion to roll out a Build to Rent project. The building will also include a pedestrian connection between Snow Hill and Weaman Street.
